Environmental Remediation: Things You Didn’t Know

It is impossible to clean soil that has been contaminated. phase I ESA Ohio has a rhyme: “Dilution is a solution to pollution.” This is not the same as saying that soil or water is “Clean.” It is never clean. There’s a high chance that a gas station has leaked into the streets below you. The pollution can remain in the soil for hundreds of years. This country has been a nation since 1776. This is only 245 years. The gas station across the street could have been contaminated for much longer.

• Sometimes environmental remediation means preventing pollution from spreading. Engineered Barriers are a fancy term for “Engineered Barriers”, which means, “We’re going over it with a parking lot.” Parking lots prevent rainwater from moving pollutants offsite. That’s often all we can hope for.
• Not the worst pollutants are oil and gasoline. You will often make judgments about what a “good” or “bad” spillage is when you work in environmental remediation. You’re happy when you have to clean up a petroleum product spillage. This reduces the distance these products can travel. Although it doesn’t reduce the lateral spread of contamination, at least it isn’t going further.
• You will often hear of environmental remediation consulting Ohio that there is a “free product” in the groundwater. A site that had 6 feet of the product was my personal experience. It was 50 years old. We pumped the water and separated fuel to use in the truck of the site owner.

What Environmental Consulting Companies Do:

The environment is not our responsibility. The role of phase II ESA Ohio is to help industry and people protect themselves from the risk of groundwater and soil-borne hazardous materials. Our job is to reduce the risk to businesses while adhering to the law and regulations of each state in which we operate. The developers, industrialists, and banks are almost exclusively the businesses that we work for.

Environmental Engineering Companies are not the same as environmental remediation consulting. Engineers can have professional licenses and engineering degrees depending on the state in which they work. All types of degrees are possible for environmental consultants. Professional licenses are also available. Phoenix Environmental Environmental employs three Professional Geologists. One of our team members is working towards the CHMM designation.

Phoenix Environmental Consultants can help you with any Environmental Remediation, testing, or research you require on your property, or the property you are considering purchasing. We will complete your project with confidentiality.
