Why are so many Geometry Dash levels alike?

Why do so many of the graded levels appear to be virtually identical? The Geometry Dash community has been struggling for quite some time with the problem of several highly rated levels having a visually similar aesthetic. This problem is not as widespread throughout the society as it was in earlier years, but it is still a problem because originality is a limited resource that many people have trouble locating.

Some Recent Rates That Are Not Original That Have Been Used

Because of how similarly they look, you may assume that they are from the same level. That is not the case. These two screenshots are from entirely different levels; there is no connection between them. Neither of these levels has any bearing on the other.

This guiding idea is applicable to virtually every style that is currently in existence, especially well-known types like as glow or modern.

Being Unique is a Challenging Task

When it seems like every concept has already been tried, it may be quite challenging to come up with something fresh and unique. This is certainly the root of much of the problem. Because of this, creators are led to believe that it does not matter what they do with their ideas; all that matters is whether or not it looks beautiful. This practice results in a significant increase in the number of recurring tropes in rated levels.

This also provides creator point grinders with a huge advantage when it comes to maintaining the freshness of their levels. For instance, level designers like as AleXins frequently recycle a large number of their previous concepts and layouts in levels that, on the whole, never truly advance past their basic exteriors.

In conclusion, while you are attempting to develop levels, don’t be afraid to rack your brain and seek up a lot of intriguing stuff in order to come up with ideas. Additionally, if your level still consists of a popular cliche, try to put your own unique twist to it!
