SEBI Grade A Exam: Unveiling the Exam Pattern and Eligibility Criteria

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) Grade A Exam is a prestigious examination conducted to recruit eligible candidates for the post of Assistant Manager in various streams such as General, Legal, Information Technology, Engineering (Civil & Electrical), Research, and Official Language. Exam Pattern:

The SEBI Grade A Exam is a three-phase selection process, consisting of Phase I, Phase II, and an Interview.

Phase I: Preliminary Examination

Objective-type questions (Multiple Choice Questions).
Time duration: 2 hours.
Maximum marks: 200.
Negative marking: 1/4th of the marks assigned to the question.
The phase includes sections such as:
General Awareness
English Language
Quantitative Aptitude
Test of Reasoning
Awareness about Securities Market
Phase II: Mains Examination

Paper 1: Securities Market (100 marks)
Paper 2: English Writing Skills (100 marks)
Paper 3: Economic & Social Issues and Finance & Management (100 marks)
Time duration: 2 hours for each paper.
Papers 1 and 3 will be conducted in both English and Hindi, while Paper 2 will be conducted in only English.
Phase III: Interview

Candidates who qualify in Phase II are shortlisted for an Interview.
Maximum marks for the Interview: 40.
Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible for the SEBI Grade A Exam, candidates must fulfill the following criteria:

Educational Qualification:

General Stream: Master’s Degree in any discipline or Bachelor’s Degree in Law or Engineering from a recognized university.
Legal Stream: Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a recognized university.
Information Technology Stream: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical/ Electronics/ Electronics and Communication/ Information Technology/ Computer Science) or Masters in Computers Application or Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline with a post-graduate qualification (minimum 2 years duration) in Computers/ Information Technology.
Engineering (Civil & Electrical) Stream: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering from a recognized university.
Research Stream: Master’s Degree in Statistics/ Economics/ Commerce/ Business Administration (Finance)/ Econometrics from a recognized university.
Official Language Stream: Master’s Degree in Hindi with English as one of the subjects at Bachelor’s Degree level or Master’s Degree in Sanskrit/ English/ Economics/ Commerce with Hindi as a subject at Bachelor’s Degree level.
Age Limit:

General Category: Not more than 30 years.
Legal Stream: Not more than 30 years.
Information Technology Stream: Not more than 30 years.
Engineering (Civil & Electrical) Stream: Not more than 30 years.
Research Stream: Not more than 30 years.
Official Language Stream: Not more than 30 years.
Experience:

Relevant work experience is desirable but not mandatory.
