Clean loose residue-
Use a broom or vacuum cleaner and clean the loose residue of mastic. Along with that, clean grouts and dust. If a broom or vacuum cleaner is unavailable, you can use a dry cloth piece for it.
Rub damp cloth-
Next, bring a bowl of warm water. The amount of the water depends on how much mastic is supposed to be removed. Soak a soft cloth into the warm water and dampen the dry mastic with it. Let the wet cloth stay on the mastic for around one hour.
Scrape the mastic off-
Then, apply gentle strokes and scrape off the mastic from the floor tiles. If it does not come up with little effort, soak the mastic in warm water for some more time. Then, try scraping it.
Use citrus cleaner-
After that, you may find thin layers of mastic residue on the tiles. Do not worry. We have a solution for that too. Let the mastic layers soak into any high-quality citrus cleaner for around 10 minutes. Wipe with a soft cloth.
Wipe with a soft rag-
Finally, dry the whole area removing all of the signs of mastic residue and warm water. Thus, you can clean dry mastic from the floor without any expensive mastic remover.
