Destiny 2 is a very big game, but sometimes the little things are what make us happy.
Destiny 2 is a favorite of both veteran MMO players and people who are just starting out in the genre. Some of the best things about the game are the great stories, the different ways to play, and the not-too-bad graphics.
But what about the small things? The ones that make you laugh or that you might not even notice, but that make the game more fun overall. Here are some of the best little things about Destiny 2 that keep people coming back, even if they aren’t the main reason to buy it.
How Wicked Thorn Looks
With a name like Thorn, you’d think the gun would at least look cool. Well, thank goodness Destiny 2 more than lived up to its end of the deal.
Thorn looks just like a weapon of sorrow should look: wickedly sharp, pointy, and black with a nice shine. Even the bullets it shoots, which look like little daggers, add to the coolness of the gun.
The Spaceship Loading Screen
Even though going places in your spaceship isn’t a big part of the game, it looks so cool!
Even though it’s just a clever way to hide a loading screen, there’s something satisfying about seeing the ship you worked hard to get and customize float around in space before landing on a planet. In the middle of fighting aliens all over the solar system, this is a calm moment. Seeing your friends’ ships pull up next to yours before they drop down to the planet below is a great extra touch.
Hastilude’s Lances
“Two words: sparrow fighting” still rings in my head. When you see Hastilude for the first time, you might think the sparrow’s design is pretty cool.
But once you read the flavor text and put all the pieces together, you get a better sense of the sparrow itself and can’t help but smile at the little bit of world-building the creators put in there. The idea of sparrow jousting sounds like a lot of fun, so maybe it will be in Destiny 3?
How Well The Soundtrack Fits
It can be hard to make music for a game that fits it perfectly, especially for a game like Wordle Unlimited that has its own style. Still, the people who made it made it work.
There are many times when you may really notice how well the music fits the mood, like when you lose your light and sad strings play or when you face off against Ghaul and dramatic tones play.
Feeling Like A Tank With Heir Apparent And Sweet Business
In Destiny 2, each weapon feels so different. No matter how you like to play, you can find a full loadout that fits your idea of the perfect game. One of these ideals is to be a total wrecking ball, and every Titan player should know what that feels like.
But neither Sweet Business nor Heir Apparent make you feel quite as powerful as they do. When you’re using these monsters with multiple barrels, it’s hard not to feel like you’re invincible.
Just How Creepy The Scorn Are
Destiny 2 has a lot of great enemy designs, but it can be hard to keep coming up with new types of enemies when there are already so many to choose from. Knowing this, some people were afraid to see what the Scorn looked like.
The Scorn are some of the creepiest enemies out there, so there was no reason to worry. These pale, often messed-up creatures move and attack in a way that none of your other enemies do. This not only makes things more tense, but it’s also fun and helps build the world as you have to think of new ways to beat this new kind of enemy.
How Gross One Thousand Voices Looks
Destiny 2 has many different kinds of weapons. You can fight the alien hordes in the game with everything from super-modern laser rifles to old-fashioned revolvers. Because of this, it’s not often that one weapon seems to have a design that’s different from the rest, like One Thousand Voices.
This weapon is made of bone and meat, so it makes sense that it came from the Forsaken expansion. Not to mention that it is a real beam of death. Even the text on the gun’s flair is kind of creepy.
Crucible Audio
Things can get rough in The Crucible. Fighting other players and their custom-built weapons can be both fun and frustrating.
Thank goodness, the powerful Lord Shaxx is always around to give praise. His loud, harsh voice gives some comfort when a match doesn’t go your way or when you’re on a killing spree that keeps getting worse. Shaxx’s voice acting and character always seem almost too happy to be true, but they are always fun to hear.
Rat King’s Engravings
Even though Rat King might not be the most powerful exotic weapon in Destiny, it gets a lot of points for style if nothing else. The name of this small auto-pistol alone makes you think of creepy, skittering creatures, which are etched in great detail on the side of the barrel.
From the silvered rats that are ready to hurt to the red wire wrapped around the grip, this weapon is a stylish addition to your arsenal. As a bonus, each weapon gets stronger the more people are nearby with this weapon equipped. For sure, there is strength in numbers.
